Mobile Phones Powered By Cola

”The mobile phone has gone through so many changes in the last 20 years, technology has been pushed so much that we can now use mobile phones for Internet browsing, checking emails and even satellite navigation. I remember back when I got my first mobile phone in 1998, it was a Motorola MR201, back then it was top of the range, had a 4 line green LCD display and a pull up aerial, I loved it but I never imagined for a minute the mobile phones would be as advanced as they are today.

So what is next for mobile phones? well one possibility is the use of bio batteries powered by fizzy drinks! Chinese developer Daizhi Zheng has created a mobile phone that is powered by cola or any other fizzy drink, the phone converts the carbohydrates into electricity through special enzymes and catalysts, the bi product is harmless water, so no chemical waste is produced, the technology has the ability to outlast a single charge from a standard lithium battery by 3-4 times.

As you can see from the pictures the technology is in prototype to show you how the technology works, in reality it would be ridiculous if you had to top up your phone with lilt to make a call wouldn’t it.

Whether this will be the future of mobile phones only time will tell, but I can say the industry is really keen on this technology and companies are making further developments as we speak, so who knows in a few years time your mobile phone could be powered by some weird cola derivative, imagine on the back of your phone reading in small print ‘Nokia, proudly powered by coca cola!’ …..insane.

What are your thoughts on this, could this be the future energy source?”
